On May 2nd the Creative Writing classes from 4th, 5th, and 6th grades will have the honor of presenting our Arizona Centennial poems to Governor Jan Brewer at the state capitol. Each of the 30 students wrote a poem about Arizona, describing its beauty and uniqueness, and each of the students has been invited for a “Meet and Greet” with the governor. What a marvelous opportunity for our Benchmark students to be able to meet our state’s top executive, and to receive this recognition of their work.
