Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
We enter October 2019 with several important announcements to make. First, Friday, October 11th is a BIG day! That marks the end of the first quarter and report cards will come home October 18th. Parent/Teacher conference week starts October 21st. Please keep a lookout a for a Signup Genius and flyer explaining the fourth grade conference process.
The students did an amazing job with their Revolutionary War Projects! We were very impressed with the time and effort put into them! We will continue with “No Homework Tuesdays” as Science/Engineering Projects get underway. Great job!
The annual Movie Night will be held on Friday, October 18th. This is a date change from previous communications. Fourth Grade parents will be selling drinks as a fundraiser for our grade level field trip. Please contact Mrs. Mehlhorn at mehlhornfamily@gmail.com if you did not receive the emailed sign up for this event. If you would like to donate soda to be sold at movie night, there is a signup genius available for that as well.
As always, the library will be holding a Book Fair. Please consider helping to support the library by purchasing new reading material at the annual fall Benchmark Book Fair beginning October 14th.
Our field trip to the Arizona Science Center is on October 18th. Any parent who have signed to chaperone are welcome to join. All information must be updated in the office, BEFORE the field trip day. If you are unsure if you are updated, please check with the office.
The afternoon of the 31st we will be having our Halloween party from 12:40-2:00. Please contact Ms. Kunkin with any questions. Students are encouraged to dress up in school appropriate costumes. Please do not allow students to bring or wear masks to school. Keep in mind, what happens in fourth grade, is often left in fourth grade, including costume props. It’s a good practice to leave props at home to keep from losing them before Halloween.
Early release days: October 24th & 25th at 11:30.
We have been having an amazing school year and we can’t wait to meet with all of you for parent/teacher conferences later this month.
Pioneer Village is around the corner, please be on the lookout for large boxes- fridge, oven, etc. If you find one or have one, WE NEED IT! We are also accepting cans of neutral colored house paint to use as base colors.
Remember: 4th Grade goes “cursive only” in November and Multiplication Facts to 12 will be tested and applied to math grades starting October 15th.
