Our innovative teaching model features two full-time professional teachers in every classroom and a low student-to-teacher ratio. We engage our students with small groups paced to individual learning abilities, pull-outs for higher level creative writing and competitive math, and after-school tutoring support.
We understand that making mistakes is integral to learning, which is why we encourage critical questioning and experimental problem-solving for all ages. Our hands-on experiential lessons bring history and science to life for all learners.

Benchmark is known for our extraordinarily unique Science Lab, offering weekly classes for all grades - including PreK - with over 80 species of animals, insects and reptiles. We love helping our students develop empathy for the small creatures of our world. Students learn to feed and care for the animals in our lab during the school week as well as an after-school Animal Club and summer Science Lab Camp.
Caregivers and PTO volunteers are an integral part of our small-school environment. Benchmark community members coordinate and attend curriculum-based festivals and student performances. Our alumni stay engaged through campus visits, volunteering, sending their kids to our beloved school and even joining us as full time, multi-talented staff.
Benchmark students access top quality art and music education; including live performances, art shows, and interactive art history. Our after school clubs inspire exploration of new interests, including an on-site garden, animal care, fine arts, fitness and more.
Our Makerspace is where Benchmark students solve real-world problems by inventing and creating. Following the engineering design process, we use design-level thinking and project-based lessons to enable students to test their skills and develop ideas.
Patriotism is a core value for us, reflected in our school flag raising, Veterans Day celebrations, service learning and rigorous study of American history. We love our country and inspire our students to feel the same.
